How can visitors process their visa or permit?

Getting your visa for Bhutan is a straightforward process managed entirely by us, your licensed tour operator. You do not need to apply at a Bhutanese embassy or consulate.

The process is simple:

Confirm Your Tour: Once you finalize your personalized tour itinerary, book your trip with us.
Submit Your Passport: You will need to send us a clear, color scan of your passport’s photo page. Your passport must have at least six months of validity from your date of entry into Bhutan.
Submit Your Passport Sized Photo: You will need to send us a clear, color scan of your recent passport sized photo, with white background, with eyes open, forehead & ears clearly visible.
Complete the Payment: You will pay the full tour invoice, which includes the mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of $100 USD per person, per night.
We Handle the Paperwork: We then apply for your visa clearance on your behalf with Bhutan’s Department of Immigration. Once approved, we will send you an official Visa Clearance Letter.

You will need to show this letter during check-in for your flight to Bhutan and at the immigration counter upon arrival at Paro International Airport, where the visa will be stamped into your passport.

How can the tour payments be made?

At Thunphel Bhutan Travels, we offer flexible and secure payment options to make your booking process as convenient as possible. All tour costs are quoted in US Dollars (USD). You can choose from the following methods to complete your payment:

1. International Wire Transfer (Standard Method) This is the most common and secure method for tour payments in Bhutan. Your payment is sent directly to our company bank account in Bhutan. This option is ideal for full tour payments. We will provide our detailed bank information on your official invoice. Wire receiver’s charges would be added with the invoice.

2. Online Payment Gateway (Credit/Debit Card) For quick and easy transactions, we accept payments through our secure online gateway. This allows you to use your credit or debit card to pay for your trip. We will send you a secure payment link to complete the transaction. This is a great option for paying deposits or the full tour amount conveniently. Please note that transactions made via the gateway are subject to a small processing fee charged by the service provider.

3. Binance (Cryptocurrency Payment) Embracing modern payment solutions, we also accept payments through Binance. If you prefer to use digital currency for your transaction, please let us know at the time of booking. We will provide you with the specific transfer after confirmation.

What is the best way to get to Bhutan?

You can travel to the Kingdom of Bhutan by air or by land.

1. By Air (Most Common): The only international airport in Bhutan is Paro International Airport (PBH). Flying into Paro offers a breathtaking approach with stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. Two national airlines operate flights to Bhutan:

These airlines connect Paro to several major cities, including Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Kathmandu (Nepal), Dhaka (Bangladesh), multiple cities in India (Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bagdogra), Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Dubai.
